Welcome!

Navajo Middle School is a 6-8 middle school nestled in the beautiful mountains of Navajo, New Mexico.  The school-wide focus is literacy (reading, writing, and discussion) and student engagement in learning across all the content areas of English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Navajo Language and Culture, PE, and STEM. Students are offered a variety of programs that enrich and enhance their education such as the After Hours Academy for tutoring and STEM, and the mountain biking program. 

School Supplies

All Gallup-McKinley County School students receive a box of school supplies and a laptop at the beginning of the school year.  For students who need hotspots, please contact the front office at Navajo Middle School.  School supplies are available to students upon request after depleting their school supply boxes.

Hours for 2023-24

Navajo Mid’s school hours for the 2023-2024 year are 8:00 to 3:05 Monday through Wednesday and 9:00 to 3:05 Thursday and Friday.  Office hours are 7:15 to 3:15.  Students may begin arriving at 7:30 for breakfast Monday through Wednesday and 8:30 Thursday and Friday.  There are no student checkouts 30 minutes before dismissal.  Students must report immediately to the cafeteria upon arrival and must leave campus upon dismissal.  In the afternoon, bus and car riders are to wait on the concrete area by the entrance until the buses or rides arrive.
